But it could've been way worse. It was more just a bummer, and kinda makes me feel violated more than anything. So I went on an adventure to get a new iPod and to get our pool water tested. I went to Leslie's Pool Supply and the guy was super helpful and talked me through the whole thing, and didn't even make fun of me for sucking so much at taking care of pools. And I got the diaphragm piece that we needed to fix the vacuum thingy in the pool. So soon, my pool will look perfect and all the chemicals with be perfect and I'll be a pool master! That's about it for now. I should catch up on current events so I have something else to chat about.

<img width='1' height='1' Sunday. Friday I was laid off from the company I have worked for for many years. It's bittersweet. In some ways I was expecting it, slightly (ok maybe a bit more than slightly) hoping for it, and in other ways totally never thought it would actually happen. But it did on Friday. I worked there for 3 years, then left for what I thought was a great opportunity. It turned out to be a crappy company, but had the benefit of getting me to live in the town I love, and making really good money. But there was no way in hell I was willing to continue working for a company that allowed me to be treated the way I was but our consultants. So I returned to my former employer, swearing I would never leave and planned to retire from this company. I considered myself a lifer at that rehire point. But that too was short lived. Within a few months I could tell that the company was trying to grow quite a bit, and management wasn't equipped for it. They were treating us in ways I had never seen there and it was a bummer. After 19 months at a job that was very very stressful with a drive that was equally as stressful, I was "paroled" to do closeout for another project. I knew in the past few weeks that they were likely going to lay me off. But it still stung a lot when it actually took place. One of the things that hurt the most was having the management guy who got the lovely task, stand there and wait for me to pack my purse and grab my stuff to escort me out right after he did it. And I know it's for legal reasons, but it still made me feel like shit. As if they had to make sure I wasn't going to walk through the office screaming or better yet hurting people. First of all, I'm not close to anyone at that office as I've never really known many of them till just a few days ago. Second of all, if they had done that at the other office where I did have friends, I would've flipped out if they didn't let me say goodbye to anyone which is apparent that would not have been permitted. All in all, it's probably for the better. And as I mentioned before, I'm choosing to see this as a good thing and pursue other options in career choices or at least just work for a smaller setting where it is more family like. Everything will be ok. I have filed for unemployment already and am waiting to hear what all I get from them. And will start researching schools for sign language and find another job.
Monday Morning Thoughts on Stuff

I've got a list in front of me of random things, so let's start. I read today a headline about $10K being stolen, amongst other things, from Habitat for Humanity. How does one sleep at night after robbing an organization that is helping people like this? Sometimes humanity amazes me. People suck! Well obviously not the people that are trying to help, but the idiots that are hindering this from taking place. They should all be locked up far away.
Plant update, no new pictures because they weren't drastic enough to photograph, but they are still doing very good, and it's still very exciting. The poor strawberries need to be cut off cause they are overly ripe and look icky. They aren't the yummiest strawberries, mostly just pretty. Which is a bummer since they are one of my favorite things, especially with whipped marshmallow and cream cheese. It's so yummy, now you want to try it.
My weekend was nice, Mark went motorcycle riding and figured he'd be home before noon. So I figured I'd just sleep late and wake up no later than when he got home. When I awoke it was 1pm! yep, that's true. And so the day was mostly over. We went and did our shopping adventure. Needed pool supplies at Home Depot and I wanted a pair of shoes I saw, only to be sorely disappointed because they are SOOO comfy and not cute on :( I'm still trying to decide if I need them, because with pants they would be cute, but not so much with a dress.
Pool maintenance, this summer Mark and I have discovered with suck at pool maintenance and having a pool man is SOOO worth the money. However, times are tight and our pool man was a jerk, so we have become the pool people. And we suck at it! We had it all nice and then who knows what happens, but it's not perfect anymore. We are not good at figuring out the chemical balancing stuff. Basically, we should just suck it up and hire someone. Even if it means spaghetti for a week :)
We went to see the movie Step Brothers this weekend with Will Farrel and the other guy I don't know his name. It was very funny. I had read a review that the plot is stupid and I would actually say, there really isn't much of a plot. But the whole time they are funny. It's worth seeing.
I got an email from Mark's sister that our Christmas vacation has been booked officially. I'm very excited. I'm excited to be considered part of the family and get to go, and I'm super excited because we are going to San Diego, and I LOVE San Diego. I have a few super good friends there and am looking forward to seeing them. The house we are renting is on the beach in Mission Beach so it'll be nice. And we will go to Sea World and maybe one other thing and then just relax. It's gonna ROCK!
My list is almost over, ending with BIG BROTHER!, I always read the online forums and stuff so I usually have an idea of what is going to happen. I am starting to like Dan after seeing the show last night. His motivational speaches to everyone at the end of the HOH competition was so funny, and very nice I thought. But I still think that Memphis, Renny and Keesha are my favorite, with Memphis being my biggest favorite. That's it!

Big Brother and Tomatoes

I tried desperately to find some news articles or something interesting to talk about but I can't find any that are sparking anything in me. So it's back to the basics, BB10 and Tomatoes! I know, the most excitement EVER!

BB10 last night, was the eviction, and I'm mad at the houseguests for being stupid. No one can make a damn move for themselves, they all have to just follow what everyone else wants. And that makes the game so boring. I really wanted Renny or Memphis to win HOH not dumb shit April. Her and Ollie will just be up in the HOH all week having sex. GAG!

Tomatoes!!! Here are two more pictures of my "babies" growing big. I'm not fully sure how many there are but I'm noticing them springing up all over. It's awesome.

Work (see I thought of something), Looks like I have a small assignment for a little while starting on Wednesday. It doesn't sound that intense or even something that'll last too long. So after it's over, we'll see if I still have work here or if I get to move on. I should probably get signed up for a sign language class soon so I can start with the new semester.

Up coming weekend, we are going to go see the movie Step Brothers tonight, I'm excited cause it looks funny. Then we get to buy pool supplies cause the poor pool is starting to look not so perfect again. I think we'll be in the pool quite a bit this weekend, looking at the upcoming temps it'll probably be a good idea.

OH that's right, last night was Reality Bites Back, that show cracks me up. Last night they did "The Biggest Chubby" instead of the Biggest Loser, and it was hilarious. Sorta of disgusting, but hilarious. My big issue is still that I want it to be a full hour not 30 mins.

Earthquake that just happened

So I'm sitting here at my desk, just got in from a training and browsing my email. When all of a sudden my trailer starts moving. Now let me tell you, I've been on windy sites where they move all the time, so I'm fairly used to this. But it just kept going. Swaying back and forth, not too violent, not rolling more of a swaying. And it lasted for a long time. Long enough for me to think "what's happening? who's f'n with my trailer? oh, that's an earthquake!" and then shout to the guys "oh my god we are having an earthquake" and I got up slowly walked past the shelf with stuff that could fall, and they were already out the door looking at our completed project. Nothing bad happend, all windows and stuff are intact. It was centered closer to my house than my work, and I have yet to be able to get through to anyone there, but am assuming since it was a 5.8 magnitude that it's ok. But I will keep trying. FYI I HATE earthquakes! HATE them! But I hate tornados more and those happen every year, so I'm hoping people run out of california, make the housing etc cheaper and go back to where they can predict their tornados, because I will not go somewhere that has those again. :)

I have gotten through to enough people now to know that everything is ok. Well I do not know for sure that nothing at my house fell, so we'll see when I get there. But I'm glad I'm no longer living alone in my apt where I had those pretty bottles in the window above my bed. That would've been bad, and I would've been a freaked out wreck!

I do have to admit that right after I realized I'm in LA and that is where Big Brother is, I thought "I wonder what the houseguests thought, they are probably freaking out cause most of them are not from cali" LOL so I checked, it's funny to see the feeds of when it's happening. My life is sad :)

Airplanes, Sharks, Job Searching and more

I realized I need to add more to this than just my plants and Big Brother. I read all the news and gossip online and decided I'd pick some things to talk about on that and then just other things that are spiking my intrest.

The recent news about the Airplane going from France to Austrailia that got a huge hole in it, lost altitude and had to land in emergency. Here is my thoughts, I knew there was a reason I don't like to fly. OH MY GOD, and I saw a picture that someone took in the plane and they are smiling etc. SMILING are you kidding me, I'd be hysterical crying and probably the first one out the door never to step foot on a plane again. They still are unsure as the cause of this. Whew, freaky!

Shark week, I'm not a fan of sharks, they don't even particularly interest me. The only cool thing was touching the babies in the touch tank at the Aquarium and the egg sacks they had which was pretty neat. But this week is Shark Week on Discovery. I don't watch any of that stuff, but Mythbusters had an episode that was on while I was going to sleep and they were doing myths about sharks. One was to "play dead" when the sharks were around versus flailing around freaking out. And you know what, playing dead worked!!!! Oh man would that be about the hardest thing to do?!!? I wouldn't be able to contain my flailing idiot self and would be eaten I think. Though if you stay still you can probably see them better. It was funny when Grant was the one to be flailing around, he FREAKED out cause something touched him. I laughed uncontrollably because I knew that would be me.

Job searching...So I've been just checking out the internet, mostly Craigslist just in case I get laid off to see what's out there and be able to have knowledge before I go into panic mode realizing I don't have a job. Since I'm a control freak most of the time, I figure if I already have a game plan I will be calmer and less "out of control". I have found some that are pretty interesting and most that I could TOTALLY get hired for. I am probably going to do part time and possibly even more than one part time so that it breaks up the day and mabye it'll keep me interested better. So when we were at the fair they had a section that had military people, cops, firemen (firepeople) and such and one of the booths was for sign language. If you know me, you know I've always been really interested in signing, I think it is so fascinating. I've wanted to take a class on signing forever and just never had. I even considered becoming a sign language interpreter but never pursued it. I talked to Mark about it last night and kind researched it, and I think if I do get laid off I am going to finally pursue it. There is a high demand for them, you can be freelance or work for a company. It does take time to do this so we'll see how I feel once I start, but this would be fun I think.

Rice cookers (I warned of the randomness), this weekend I bought a rice cooker. I've always been interested in one. Mostly because I like kitchen gadgets. But now living with Mark, his daughter LOVES rice, but doesn't know how to cook it. I wrote the directions down and the attempt didn't go so well. Now here was my opportunity to rationalize a rice cooker! Mark suggested minute rice in the bags, but rice is so cheap and that makes it stupidly not cost effective, so again I rationalized a rice cooker. We've used it two times thus far and it is FANTASTIC! I got a rather cheap one, only $31 at target, I'd post an add but I can't find it online. It's great and I highly suggest one if you ever eat rice.

Big Brother, you knew I'd have to post something about it! :) I HATE Jessie, he is SO whiny. I've read the live posts and seen some of the feeds and he is up in Keesha's HOH just being a pain in the butt. They should totally evict him because he will do this now and any other time they try. So they should just rip the bandaid off and do it now. Though I have read a funny idea, someone get him on slop. He would freak out and lose weight and freak out some more and it could be great fun to watch. So if they don't come to their senses and get him out they should get him on slop. I do like Keesha, I can't stand April or her boytoy Ollie. Him, I don't like because he's a hypocrite. They have sex ALL the damn time in that house, not a care in the world that it is ALL over the internet and they are barely playing the game. If you went there to get laid you could've left your spot open for someone that wanted to actually play Big Brother.

That's it for now, off to train people once again on the cold rooms. Such fun here at work

Tomato Plant Excitement Cont.

Yesterday I was very grumpy. Just one of those days. I went outside to look at my plants and upon a very close inspection of the Tomato plant (I should come up with a name for it) I found 3 tomatoes beginning to grow! They are just bitty right now, but sooooooon I will have tomatoes to pick. I'm very happy, and it definitely made me chill out with the 'tude I had. Because now I have better things to worry about...tomatoes!!! Mark and I are off to Fry's and Home Depot to start pricing things we are going to be installing. Ciao! PS tonight is BIG BROTHER NIGHT (one of 3 each week)

Reality Bites Back & the Fair

We watched Reality Bites Back last night because now I know what time it's on. It says it's on at 10:30 but it's really at 7:30 and I think Comedy Central should make this better known for the future so people who are so excited to see the show and stay up really late to see it then miss it, could see it. Whew that was a long sentance. But it's a really funny show, and I like it a lot. I love the sarcasim of the comedians because they sound like I'm thinking when I watch my other reality shows, and now finally it's being voiced. But I have a complaint about it...it's only 30 minutes long :( It should be a full hour and I would be even happier. Mark actually watched it with me and he HATES reality shows, but since it's a parody of them, he agreed. And he will never admit it, but he laughed.

The Fair...Originally we weren't going to go to the fair because it ends up being expensive and money is tight right now, as it is for everyone. But we got a deal on some tickets and decided to do it cheaply after work one evening. When we were there we saw the Peking (I think that's how it's spelled) acrobats. We watched the show and it was pretty amazing. There were a few stunts that made you cringe because if they went wrong there would be some serious pain involved. But one I caught on camera that was cool is this...This one guy on the bottom is holding up all of those other people! All 6 of them! He did some other crazy stuff like that, but I didn't get a good enough picture to post. Other than that we just ate ice cream and chili fries and walked around.

Big Brother and other Stuff

I didn't see last nights Big Brother because we went to the Fair instead. Mark hates crowds and the only was he was semi-willing to go was to go during the week when maybe less crazy people would be there. It was must less crowded and because it was in the last afternoon into the night, not hot either, which is good because I always end up burnt. So I don't honestly know what happened but read that Steven was evicted and Keesha won HOH. I liked Steven better than Dan so that's a bummer but I think Keesha could possibly stir up the house with HOH in a fun way.

Other than that, not much to update here. Got the news today that I don't know if I'll have a job soon, so I'm a bit preoccupied trying to decide if I'm going to stress because a part of me feels this could be for the better as the past almost 2 years back here haven't been the best, and I'd like to venture out on my own. But the Type-A controlling person in me that needs to have a set amount of money steadily coming in is panicing a bit. It'll all be ok, and everything will work out as it always does.

3rd Big Brother Update

Well after last night, I've fully decided how I feel about Jesse...I don't like him. He is the most "look at me, aren't I hot? And I have HUGE muscles and I'm great and you should think I'm great too" kinda person I've ever seen. He's a jackass and I think he should go next. His HOH room was disturbing. I understand that what he's done being so young is a pretty cool thing, but do you need that many pictures of yourself? Maybe in your house if you're crazy, but in your HOH room it's supposed to be pictures of the people you dearly miss because you're in the Big Brother house.
Keesha and Steven's talk about dogs was pretty humorous. Don't get me wrong, I love animals and love my animals but she was getting all freaked out when he said "dogs get sick" etc and it made me giggle. Then she's saying how you almost want to get evicted so you can go home to them. HELLO, you signed up for Big Brother, you have the chance to win big money, and you'd leave so you can see your dog!?! What is wrong with you?!?!?! Maybe she should leave and I should take her place cuz I could totally handle being away from everyone I love for 3 months for the shot to win some big money.
I think Libra and April are stupid. Their whining about the food comp made me want to punch them and even though I don't like Renny, I'm glad Keesha made a point to say she did well. There's no way to motivate people like compaining about them when they can hear you, that always works for me. (insert super sarcastic tone here)
I don't really care much about the nominations just yet. We'll see how I feel after Veto, so far they don't phase me other than there are others I'd rather see go, I don't have a huge love for anyone yet. Maybe still Jerry thus far.

Tomato Plant Excitement

Great news, well for me, others might not share my excitement and I don't care, this is my party :) I went out to water my plants just now and I've been a bit worried about my tomato plant because some of the leaves aren't doing well and I still hadn't seen any signs of growing tomatoes. So while I'm watering I'm looking at it (I'd just Friday added a self fertalizing thing that drips into it because I thought that might help) and it has little yellow flowers on it!!! I think these might turn into baby tomatoes! I'm gonna have tomatoes!!!! I'm very excited. I'll be able to make my favorite pizza without having to buy produce now :) Here are some pictures...oh and one of the basil plant because it's my favorite (don't tell the tomatoes) and it has TONS of flowers on it now. They are all ending up in the pool, lol and Mark teased that the plant has to go. Over my dead body! Oh PS in my photo editing the basil plant is rotated correctly but for some reason when I upload it does it stupid. Sorry, tilt your head :)

Reality Bites Back

There is a new show on Comedy Central called Reality Bites Back which is a show that is sorta a parody of I believe 7 other reality showed mixed into one. The contestants are comedians and they live in a house (like Big Brother) and compete in challenges that are similar to other shows but are making fun of the other shows. It looks like it's going to be fantastic! I missed it on TV last night, but due to the wonderful world wide web, was able to watch it this evening. This has such great potential and I plan on making this one of my summer, thursday night line ups.

I'm really looking forward to Prison Break coming back on and will surely keep you updated on that show as I have been completely addicted since episode 1. The plot is riveting, keeps me guessing and I LOVE Wentworth Miller! He is GORGEOUS! Sidebar, my receptionist at my previous jobsite was walking past a Starbucks and saw him! She debated with herself for a few minutes "should I interrupt him (he was with a girl) and get his picture/autograph for Jaymie because she would be more excited that pretty much ever? or leave him alone?" and damnit if she didn't chose to leave him alone! I understand why, but it was Wentworth-Freaking-Miller! If she had seen Vin Diesel and NOT stopped I probably would've just ended it for her then, but I forgave her though I will never forget sadly :(

I know from these posts I sound like a complete TV addict, and I'd never really thought of myself as one, but I am. I will admit it. My name is Jaymie and I am a TV addict, but I am ok with this and not getting treatment...yet.

2nd Big Brother thoughts

Last night was the very first eviction ceremony which is always tense never knowing who is going to flip at the last second. And I HATE when I fully believe it's going to go one way and then the houseguests have a change of heart. They often make the wrong decision and apparently they can not hear me when I'm yelling at them. I must talk to CBS about this.

The show was cute, I do think the sock puppet eviction was freaking halarious! Great choice of entertainment and their puppets were soo funny! I have to say, I stick with my original liking of Brian. I am so confused! I think had he not gotten a damn ego attack he would be a great person in there because he is entertaining to watch and I think the houseguests liked him. But he royally screwed up by choosing to "align" with everyone right out of the gate. He wasn't even sneaky about it, just cocky, bad choice people don't like cocky people. HELLO BRIAN!

In the end, I think they all made the right choice and I think so far I'm ok with Jesse being HOH. I don't really have a feel for him yet, but I don't dislike him, which is positive enough I suppose. I am bummed that it is not on again until Sunday. What am I going to do with myself until then? Guess I'll have to watch tv with the family instead of in my room on the treadmill. Doesn't CBS know I'm trying to lose weight by watching Big Brother and walking for an hour? Again, letter to CBS, Big Brother should be on every night, and not the "After Dark", the whole show. That would make me a happy happy fit skinny girl.

In memory of Jannie (Janel) "Peace Out B*itches!"

Plant pictures

I took some more pictures of my plants so that I can post them for you all to see. I'm very impressed with myself. The tomato plant doesn't look at good as I'd hoped, but I haven't given up on it. It's not brown so it's still kicking. Look how many strawberries are on those plants?!?! It's amazing! and see how cute the basil plant is? I think it's pretty darling. And there is our backyard standing from the screen door. I think the people that built that pool must've been professional swimmers or something, maybe they were pool builders and could do it super cheap, not sure, but as much as I love the pool especially in the summers in so cal, it seems like a huge waste of a yard. I can't have a dog or anything :( Ok but I really like my plants and they don't poop everywhere, so decent trade (This would be Mark's side of the story if you asked him, lol)

Last post for today. I've decided I want to grow stuff. Like tomatoes and other edible items. So Mark and I treked to Home Depot to have a look around. I'm determined to actually keep this stuff alive, I do not have a green thumb at all and typically can only keep cactus type items alive. Sadly I've even managed to kill some bamboo that was a gift from my "mama Mary" when she left for Florida. Apparently you can not put this stuff out on the patio in the sun or it will turn WHITE and die. Who knew?!?! I thought sun would be good for it since it was always inside my appartment. So I've lost 2 shoots, but have 3 still and won't make the mistake again.

Ok sorry, back on track. So we bought 2 hanging strawberry plants. This was totally and impulse buy. I saw them, they smelled good and I thought "I like strawberries" so we got them. I also got a Roma Tomato plant that is already a baby plant, I decided starting from seeds would just frustrate me since I am an instant gratification type person. (hence strawberries, they already had blossoms so I couldn't fail). The tomato plant is now planted in a pot and I'm lovingly watering it everyday and sending happy little thoughts to "please please grow some tomatoes" but so far, nothing. But it is still alive so that's good so far.

Next thing, I bought a basil plant. I LOVE LOVE basil and since all it has to do is stay alive and regrow what I pick I again felt I've already succeeded. It's a beautiful little plant with white blossoms that the bees love and we made pizza with it (my favorite tomato, basil, chicken, olive oil) and it was great. I haven't yet killed that plant either. It's amazing.

For those of you that've seen our backyard, it's ALL concrete and pool. No dirt or grass or anything so no shade either. This made picking plants hard. But luckily things that are edible often require "full sun". Perfect! That I can do.

For my first picture, the first batch of strawberries lovingly cut from my plants. There is already many more to pick, but these were the first. And guess what?!?! They tasted good too! I might have a bit of a light green thumb afterall!

1st Big Brother Thoughts

Last night was the 2nd episode of Big Brother 10 and it appears there will be no shortage of drama, which I LOVE! But I am a bit dissapointed so far. It seems that one of my top 2 favorites is actually turning out to be slimy. Dang he had me fooled too! I'm glad that everyone figured it out so early because as much as I loved the way Dr. Will played the house, I don't think we need a wannabe Dr. Will in the house, "get your own game plan loser!". Tonight we will see if the house actually has the smarts to get him out of the house. Though keeping him there will likely keep the drama high, I'm sure there will be no short of that. Especially if that wierdo Renny stays this week. She's an odd odd lady and I can only imagine what her family thinks seeing her on tv. Everyone else has kept a pretty low profile in my opinion so not too much to report on them. But I'm still bummed that Brian is slimy, and hope that Jerry stays a good guy.

Another episode tonight, 8pm. I'll be walking on the treadmill and talking to the tv.

The beginning of...who knows, we'll see

So I've decided to start a blog. Not about anything in particular. Just because I thought it'd be fun. I've been reading lots of blogs by other people all over about crafts, gardening, random stuff etc and thought this might be a good way for my family, friends and anyone in between to read about little stuff I've been doing or seeing or really anything. Right now, a lot of it will probably be about Big Brother because my life become absorbed about Big Brother during the summer, so after the shows, I'll probably post a little about what I think. But I've also recently started a little garden and I'd like to show you my progress. And I'm always doing little random crafty things, even though I don't consider myself crafty, I have to say I come up with some pretty cute stuff. Some of which comes from other blogs I've seen and I just make it work for me. So...here we go...hold on it might be a wild ride :) Oh and as always, since the Soldiers Angels is such a big part of my life and has been for almost 2 years, there will likely be stuff about that too. Don't forget you can always join Soldiers Angels at www.soldiersangels.org and make a difference in someone's life.
